Maybe I'll make it to NAB NEXT year...

NAB, the National Asossication of Broadcasters convention, is held in Las Vegas every spring. For the last four years I've said that I was going. For the last four years I havent' gone. They always have lots of cool new toys there. Cameras, computers, editing systems, audio gear, software, all kinds of shit.

The RED ONE is a new camera I've been waiting to see for months. It's got amazing specs. Its a bad-ass camera. I mean baaaad, like Shaft.

There's a link to RED on the link list...

WOW Circuit Bending is the Answer!

What was the question?

How do you get crazy cool 8-bit audio samples and sounds? Check out FastMatt's Speak and Spell mods. There's this whole culture of 'circuit-bending' and FastMatt has turned into a great little business for himself. These guys break into funky 70s and 80s electronic devices (like a Casio keyboard or a Speak and Spell). Then they randomly connect wires across circuits to funk up the sound.

Think Beck meets Frank Zappa.

Highly Liquid is another company that plays with this. They create MIDI interfaces and outboard cross-patching consoles. Pretty sweet.

I want one. Maybe next month. This month I already bought that video camera, and I think I'm buying a digital still camera after work today.

Who'd have though assembling staples would be so financially lucrative. Thank god(dog) for bureaucracy.

I wish I was the leader of a ninja posse!

Don't you wish you rolled with a squad of hard ninjas? I know I do. Look at the guy on the far right. His hand's open and inviting. Don't go in, he may look friendly like the Fonz, but he's not saying "Eeeehhh!" He's saying: "Eeh, come in here and I'll scratch your cock off! Fucker!" Ninja's are tight!

Mad props to realultimatepower.net for the image. Check out their site on my links...===>

Here's my first uploaded photo...

[UNTITLED]

I bought my first video camera and created my first blog today. This staple assembly job is great and all, but I need some creativity again. In school, I got to create something every day. I took it for granted...didn't realize how amazingly cool that is. Thank god I found art school. The job isn't bad. It's a great job, there's just nothing creative about it. Hardest part is watching all the stuff that other people create.

Anyway, that's all going to start changing now.

Gotta go, my fingernails grow WAY too fast...
